ABOUT THE PROJECT
DiMi Care project is financed by the Erasmus+ program under the KA2, dedicated to the cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training.
DiMiCare - Digital Mindset for Carers is a 2-year project launched in November 2022, it involves care assistants in the development of digital competences that could be useful for their daily work, considering the growing role of the digital technology also in the elderly and long-term care sector.
OBJECTIVES
By proposing a dedicated flexible training course, the project aims at:
-raising awareness of stakeholders in the care and VET sector about the potential of technology in care and the necessity to renovate the IVET and CVET offers.
-development of digital competences for care assistants through a specific training course, a set of learning micro-units on the implementation of digital skills in the home care and long-term care sector.
This learning format, modular, able to be adapted to formal and non-formal contexts, will ensure that a large number of carers can be reached.
RESULTS
In order to reach the defined goals DiMiCare aims to develop the following results:
1. Groundwork Paper: a document of analysis that presents the actual European trends of technology deployment in the care professions, existing training offers and identified training needs.
2. Training Course: a modular training course which addresses home helpers and care assistants and can be integrated in IVET and CVET learning offers.
3. Micro-Learning Units: a set of micro-learning units, online “bite-sized learning chunks”, that allow care professionals for individual and rapid learning.
The innovative potential of DiMiCare lies in three aspects:
-it focuses on the development of competences which have not been adequately reflected in existing curricula so far;
-it presents an extremely innovative flexible format of a training course that could be adapted to the concrete needs of the different working contexts;
-it takes up the challenge to address a target group (care assistants and home helpers) which is usually reluctant to use technology.
All results, materials and the training course will be uploaded on website of the project.
Especially for the training course, the project implementation will include a piloting phase with the potential involvement of teachers or trainers.
