General description:
Today, artificial intelligence (AI) is an extremely powerful technology that is expected to generate a wide range of innovation. These, in turn, make AI an instigator for an unprecedented level of entrepreneurial opportunity (Kabir 2018). According to the Commission’s White paper on AI (2020) the impact of AI systems should be considered not only from an individual perspective, but also from the perspective of society.
The use of AI systems can have a significant role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and in supporting the democratic process and social rights. However, there is a lack of awareness and resources on how can they be applied. In this vein, Best AI is focused on empowering social entrepreneurship through AI integration in Vocational Education and Training (VET).
Addressing digital transformation as a core priority, BestAI develops training materials that enhance digital readiness, resilience, and capacity among social entrepreneurs and VET learners. The project employs Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) with WebQuests and experiential learning techniques that promote digital proficiency, ethical AI usage, and peer interaction.
Key outcomes include:
1. BestAI Toolkit (R1) - A learner-centered, interactive toolkit fostering skills in AI-driven tools for social entrepreneurship.
2. Guidelines for VET Providers (R2) - A resource aiding educators in incorporating AI tools and CBL into teaching strategies.
3. BestAI Blueprint (R3) - Policy recommendations for integrating AI into VET, supporting digital and social entrepreneurship.
Aligned with the EU’s twin transition goals, BestAI further adapts VET to the labor market by nurturing green, digital, and transversal skills critical for the evolving workforce.
Finally, by embedding interdisciplinary, innovative, and learner-centric methods, BestAI enhances VET’s appeal, offering an inclusive, practical path for learners to develop competencies in social entrepreneurship through a digital, ethical lens.
Project target groups:
Social entrepreneurs and those at the start-up stage of social business; VET learners, trainers, teachers, consultants; social partners and NGOs supporting entrepreneurs.
